Horse Archer
“Better to spend your quiver than your mount; but both weight less than your father’s shame.”
– Boris Half-Tail, Ungol Horseman
In the harsh steppe lands north and east of Kislev, horsearchers are not mere soldiers—they are survival mademanifest. Among the Ungol clans, every boy learns the bowbefore he can braid his beard, for a man who cannot loosefrom the saddle is little better than dead.
Their tactics are as old as the winds: strike fast, harry theflanks, vanish before the enemy’s steel can close. A Dolganor Ungol rider thinks little of glory and less of honor;survival, not heroism, is the measure of worth. They prizespeed, cunning, and the patient cruelty of hit and runtactics. For in the endless grasslands, a man who wasteshis arrows—or his horse—is as good as feeding the crows.
While far more common in Kislev than elsewhere, ridingarchers can also be found on the plains of Ostermark, andon the rolling hills of Stirland and Wissenland - though inthese places they are most often just highwaymen whocannot afford gunpowder weapons, and there is no culturalsignificance to the practice. Bretonnian Yeomen alsosometimes fight as horse archers, as do High Elf EllyrianReavers and Wood Elfs Glade Riders.
